Research advances more each year about schizophrenia, yet little is still known about it entirely. Particularly with symptoms like extreme paranoia and separation from reality, writing this piece begs the question of how that reality is formed, structurally existing based on a majority consensus of notions of “normalcy” and “reality”. At what point does anyone become fully schizophrenic? What behaviors make someone paranoid to a point they perceive in a separate reality from someone / anyone else? The descent into madness, into severe mental illness is a true descent into a private hell. The fact that one of the biggest catalysts for schizophrenia is poverty makes at least discussing the illness a social responsibility. This is to all those that delve into the 7th circle, keep going, resurrect, and transcend.
